This is an event to promote relations between Ho Chi Minh City and cities around the world, as well as an opportunity to promote the country and people of Vietnam to friends of other countries.
The plenary session took place on the morning of December 3 with the participation of Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van So, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Head of the Central Foreign Affairs Committee Le Hoai Trung, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai, and representatives of 24 localities from countries such as Germany, Korea, the United States, Laos, Cambodia, Australia, Japan, Russia, China, Belarus, and the Philippines.
"The Friendship Dialogue will create new impetus to promote cooperation between localities and the city," said Minister Bui Thanh Son.
According to Mr. Son, the world is witnessing very profound and comprehensive changes. After nearly 3 years of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, the world economy is entering a recovery period with many new opportunities but also many difficulties and challenges.
He also said that Vietnam wishes and is willing to work with other countries and partners to promote cooperation and development, especially in the economy, trade, and investment.

The program also facilitates the introduction and exploitation of cooperation potentials between localities through diverse and lively image exchange and promotion activities.
At the end of the conference, localities agreed to further strengthen friendship and comprehensive cooperation on the basis of mutual respect and understanding.
At the same time, it is necessary to consolidate the factors that serve as the foundation for sustainable partnerships and jointly propose and implement initiatives to enhance people-to-people exchanges and cohesion.
